Year/Location: 2006/Vienna
Type: Mixed Use Skyscraper
Architects: Rok Žgalin Kobe
The form chosen for this skyscraper presents a minimum impact on neighbouring buildings, with a sleek profile towards the south that casts a thin shadow in the morning. The wide afternoon shadow falls on the street, thus not disrupting any of the buildings. The inner structure is organized three-dimensionally. The elevators and stairs are grouped along the north side of the building, allowing every story to have a different configuration. This also allows a future re-modification; e.g. transforming offices into apartments and vice versa.
